Curriculum
The A Beka curriculum is the foundation for instruction at CRCA.
This is the oldest and most widely used Christian school curriculum
in America today. It is widely known for its strong academic foundation,
emphasizing a phonetic approach to reading, traditional methods
of teaching the “three R’s”, as well as biblical,
moral and character development.
Test scores of children from across the country who use the A Beka
curriculum show a one to three year learning advantage. A Beka is
the primary source for the preschool and kindergarten classes. Throughout
the elementary grades, the A Beka curriculum is supplemented with
other quality curricula to assure our students are best prepared
for their future educational experiences.
The Virginia Standards of Learning objectives are also used as a
guideline for designing supplemental materials. Upon leaving CRCA
our students succeed whether they attend another Christian school,
private, public, or preparatory school. The Stanford 10 Achievement
test series are administered annually. The results place Cedar Road
Christian Academy students in the 80-90 percentile.
