Resource Class
Computer
Computer classes are available for every age level in elementary
grades. Keyboarding and proper typing skills are introduced. Basic
computer skills are then used to enhance classroom curriculum.
Fifth grade classes are guided in internet research and are given
lessons in internet safety
Music
Music instruction is provided for every class from 3-year-olds
to fifth grade.
Younger students learn about steady beat and the use of rhythm
instruments. Older classes progressively learn about song production
through vocal performance, and instruments such as boomwackers,
hand bells and melody bells.
Fourth grade classes begin learning about woodwind instruments
and how to play the recorder. Note reading is encouraged.
Students perform in three public programs each year, as well as
in smaller in-house productions.
Art
Weekly art classes give students an opportunity for personal
expression and creativity. Art projects help younger students
develop fine motor skills.
Physical Education
Free play is encouraged daily. Scheduled physical education
classes involve children in instructor-led activities.
Ample playground space and state-of-the-art playground equipment
reflect Cedar Road Christian Academy’s concern for physical
fitness.
